INSPIRATION
Living in New York City, one gets exposed to fashion and art on a daily basis. Some appreciate it, and some consume it. I was one of those consumed.
My father was a surrealist painter, and I was surrounded by strange worlds of fascinating shapes and vibrant colors. My mother was a seamstress for a well-known bridal company, and coming from that background I guess its no surprise that I wound up blending the two together.
Detail, movement and artistic flair are what I like to convey in my illustrations. My main focus is to express the design as movement on the page while staying true to the details of the design. My specializations are couture and eveningwear, but my portfolio extends to lingerie, sportswear, and bridal. I work and experiment with all sort of media, including markers, pastels and chalk, metallic markers, nail polish, glitter, colored pencils, and watercolor.
From my first professional portfolio to the present, I have often sought to bring out the emotion that art can convey, as well as the flow and movement of the colors and fabrics that represent the luxurious dresses I had grown up surrounded by. I strive to create fantasy pieces that engage the imagination, as well as reach out to touch the senses in a way that is hopefully inspiring, and always unforgettable.
